The Dairy Alliance is supporting student-athletes at the 14th Annual GHSA Tommy Guillebeau Football State Championships by distributing real dairy milk throughout the event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium from December 15–17, 2025. The nonprofit organization, funded by dairy farm families in the Southeast, emphasizes milk's nutritional benefits for athletic performance through its Milk's Got Game® campaign. "We proudly support student-athletes across Georgia as they compete on Georgia's biggest stage," said Joanne Engelhardt-Risko, Vice President of Strategic Marketing at The Dairy Alliance. "Real dairy milk provides complete high-quality protein for muscle recovery, carbohydrates for energy replenishment, and natural electrolytes that support hydration, helping these Georgia athletes perform and recover at every stage of the game."
Registered Dietitian Laura Buxenbaum, Vice President of Health & Wellness at The Dairy Alliance, explained that milk serves as an affordable and accessible beverage for athletes. "Milk, whether plain or flavored, is an affordable, easily accessible, and delicious, naturally nutrient-rich beverage to help fuel athletes for performance and recovery," Buxenbaum said. The GHSA has maintained its partnership with The Dairy Alliance to align with its mission of supporting healthy athletic programs. "The GHSA proudly continues its partnership with The Dairy Alliance to support student-athletes across Georgia," said Jorge Cimadevilla, GHSA Partnerships General Manager. "Their dedication to nutrition, education, and community outreach aligns perfectly with our mission to strengthen healthy, competitive, and well-rounded athletic programs."
This championship event honors the legacy of longtime GHSA Executive Director Tommy Guillebeau while celebrating the dedication of student-athletes, coaches, and communities across Georgia. The Dairy Alliance's involvement extends beyond this event, as the organization supports active communities throughout the Southeast. Their Milk's Got Game® initiative partners with high school and collegiate athletes to promote the performance benefits of real dairy milk. The organization also engages with broader athletic communities through sponsorships of major racing events including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, Rock 'n' Roll Nashville, and the Cooper City Bridge Run.
